Crispy mouth-watering healthy moong dal dosa is not only have health benefit but also very easy to prepare. Its a perfect healthy breakfast recipe but can be served for dinner as well. The traditional dosa we made from rice and urad daal ( black lentils ) but today we are going to use yellow moong daal instead of urad daal.
Dosa is very popular recipe. There are many varieties of dosa available like oats dosa, masala dosa, Pav bhaji dosa, cheese dosa etc.
Today we are preparing moong dal and rice dosa. Earlier we used to make this Dal dosa with green moong dal but for the first time I have tried with yellow moong dal and It comes out very nice and crispy. Most importantly this is very healthy If we compare with traditional dosa. As here we have used Moong dal which is a Known for good source of protein and dietary fiber and also rich in calcium and potassium low in fat. Moong dal is very healthy and easy to digest due to rich in dietary fiber. Due to this fact you can include this in your weight loss diet.
In this recipe I have used Moong dal and Rice in half- half proportion beside that If you want to make it more healthier then you can increase the quantity of dal. It can be served with tomato chutney or coconut chutney or even with sambhar.
Today we are going to serve with tomato chutney along with some healthy smoothie for wholesome breakfast.
- Moong Daal – 1 bowl
- Rice – 1 bowl
- Oil for frying
- Water as required
- Salt – as per taste
Method: How to Make Moong Dal Dosa :
- Wash and soak moong dal and rice at least for 4 hrs can be soaked together also. Discard the water and put into the grinder by adding little fresh water and grind till smooth paste. Don’t add a lot of water in one go.
- The consistency of the batter should be pouring. Keep dosa batter in the warm place for fermentation at least 8-10 hrs or overnight depending on the weather.
- Add salt and mix well.
- Heat the nonstick tawa.
- Pour some batter on it and spread it in a circular motion sprinkle some ghee or oil over it. Cook it on high flame till dosa turn golden brown.
- Serve hot with your choice of chutney or sambhar
